6 Months Gone, No New Vending Zone: 314 Shopkeepers in Udala Await Rehabilitation

ଉଚ୍ଛେଦ ବେଳେ ପ୍ରତିଶ୍ରୁତି ଦେଖାଇଥିଲା ପ୍ରଶାସନ, ଏବେ ଶୁଣୁନଥିବା ଅଭିଯୋଗ ହୋଇଛି। ମୟୂରଭଞ୍ଜ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଉଦଳାରେ ଗତ ୬ମାସ ତଳେ ୩୧୪ ଦୋକାନୀଙ୍କୁ ରାସ୍ତା ପ୍ରଶସ୍ତିକରଣ ପାଇଁ ଉଚ୍ଛେଧ କରାଯାଇଥିଲା। ମାର୍କେଟ ମଝିରେ ଥିବା ଦୋକାନୀ ସବୁ ପ୍ରତିଶ୍ରୁତି ଦେଇ ପ୍ରଶାସନ କରିଥିଲା ଉଚ୍ଛେଦ। ହେଲେ ଘଟଣାକୁ ୬ମାସ ବିତି ଥିଲେ ବି ପ୍ରଶାସନ ପକ୍ଷରୁ ଉଚ୍ଛେଦ ପରେ ଦୋକାନ ସବୁ ବନ୍ଦ ରହିଛି। ଫଳରେ ଆଜି ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ନୂତନ ଭେଣ୍ଡିଂଜୋନ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଆରମ୍ଭ ହୋଇନାହିଁ। ଯାହାକୁ ନେଇ ପରିବାର କିଭଳି ଚଳାଇବେ ସେନେଇ ଚିନ୍ତାରେ ପଡିଛନ୍ତି ଦୋକାନୀ।
Six months after 314 shopkeepers were evicted in Udala, Mayurbhanj district, for road widening, their shops reportedly remain closed and the promised new vending zone is yet to become operational. The shopkeepers allege that the administration had assured them of an alternative vending zone before the eviction, but their demands are now being ignored. With no new vending zone in place even after six months, the affected shopkeepers are worried about how they will support their families and earn their livelihood.
