Agniveers’ Service Tenure Extended by Two Years, Says CDS

ବଢିଲା ଅଗ୍ନିବୀରଙ୍କ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାଳ। ସେନାରେ ଅଗ୍ନିବୀରଙ୍କ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାଳ ୨ ବର୍ଷ ବୃଦ୍ଧି କରିଛନ୍ତି କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ସରକାର। CDS ଏନ୍ ଏସ୍ ରାଜା ସୁବ୍ରମଣି କହିଛନ୍ତି ଯେ, ଅବ୍ୟାହତି ନେବାକୁ ଥିବା ୭୫% ଅଗ୍ନିବୀରଙ୍କ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାଳ ୨ ବର୍ଷ ବୃଦ୍ଧି ଘୋଷଣା କରାଯାଇଛି। ୨ ବର୍ଷ ପରେ ଚୟନ ମାନଦଣ୍ଡ ପୂରଣ କଲେ ନିୟମିତ ସୈନିକ ଭାବେ ସାମିଲ୍ ହେବେ ଅଗ୍ନିବୀର। ଅଗ୍ନିବୀରଙ୍କ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଦକ୍ଷତା ଭଲ ରହିଛି ବୋଲି କହିଛନ୍ତି CDS। ଡିସେମ୍ୱର ୩୧ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ୧୮ ହଜାର ୩୦୦ ଅଗ୍ନିବୀରଙ୍କ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟକାଳ ସରୁଛି। ପୂର୍ବ ନିୟମ ଅନୁସାରେ ୪ ବର୍ଷର ସେବା ପରେ ୨୫% ଅଗ୍ନିବୀର ସେନାରେ ସ୍ଥାୟୀ ନିଯୁକ୍ତି ପାଉଥିଲେ ଏବଂ ଅବଶିଷ୍ଟ ୭୫% ଅଗ୍ନିବୀରଙ୍କୁ ସେବାମୁକ୍ତ କରାଯାଉଥିଲା। କିନ୍ତୁ ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ନୂଆ ନିଷ୍ପତ୍ତି ଅନୁଯାୟୀ, ସେହି ୭୫ ପ୍ରତିଶତ ଅଗ୍ନିବୀରଙ୍କୁ ଆଉ ଅଧିକ ୨ ବର୍ଷ ସଶସ୍ତ୍ର ବାହିନୀରେ ସେବା କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସୁଯୋଗ ମିଳିବ। ଏହି ଅତିରିକ୍ତ ଦୁଇ ବର୍ଷର ସେବା ଅବଧି ମଧ୍ୟରେ ଅଗ୍ନିବୀରଙ୍କୁ ଅଧିକ ଦରମା ମିଳିବା ସହ ସେମାନଙ୍କର 'ସେବା ନିଧି' ପ୍ୟାକେଜ୍ କୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ବୃଦ୍ଧି କରାଯିବ।

The Central Government has announced a two-year extension in the service tenure of Agniveers whose four-year term was due to end. Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan? No — the Odia report names CDS N. S. Raja Subramani, who said the extension will benefit the 75% of Agniveers who would otherwise be released from service. They will get an opportunity to serve in the armed forces for two additional years and may be inducted as regular soldiers if they meet the selection criteria. The CDS said Agniveers have performed well. The tenure of 18,300 Agniveers is scheduled to end by December 31. The new decision also provides for higher salaries during the extended service period and an increase in their Seva Nidhi package.
