Tension has surfaced in Jharpada, Bhubaneswar, ahead of Durga Puja over a dispute between two puja committees regarding the construction of a torana on the road. The old Durga Puja committee alleged that Laxmisagar Police stopped the construction work under pressure from a particular committee and claimed political influence behind the action. The committee has demanded a resolution before the Puja and warned of a Laxmisagar Police Station gherao if the work remains stopped. Police response was not available.
