Fake Khaja Sold in the Name of Mahaprasad? Puri Crackdown Raises Quality Concerns

ମହାପ୍ରଭୁ ଶ୍ରୀଜଗନ୍ନାଥଙ୍କ ଶୁଖିଲି ଭୋଗ ଖଜା ମହାପ୍ରସାଦକୁ ନେଇ ଭକ୍ତଙ୍କ ରହିଛି ଅଗାଢ଼ ଆସ୍ଥା। ହେଲେ ବାହାରେ ଭୋଗ ନାଁରେ ବିକ୍ରି ହେଉଥିବା ଖଜାର ମାନ ଓ ଗୁଣବତ୍ତାକୁ ନେଇ ଏବେ ଉଠିଛି ପ୍ରଶ୍ନ। ପୁରୀର ବିଭିନ୍ନ ଖଜା ଭାଟିରେ ଚଢ଼ାଉ କରି ଅପମିଶ୍ରିତ ଦ୍ରବ୍ୟ ଓ ଅସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟକର ପରିବେଶରେ ପ୍ରସ୍ତୁତ ଖଜା ଜବତ କରିଥିଲା ପ୍ରଶାସନ। ଏହାପରେ ପୁରୀ ବଜାରରେ ମାନ୍ଦା ପଡ଼ିଛି ଖଜା ବେପାର। ତେବେ ଖଜାର ଗୁଣବତ୍ତା ଯାଞ୍ଚ ସହ ଆଗକୁ ମଧ୍ୟ ଚଢ଼ାଉ ଜାରି ରହିବ ବୋଲି ପ୍ରଶାସନ କହିଛି।

Questions have been raised over the quality and authenticity of Khaja being sold outside the Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri in the name of Mahaprasad. The administration conducted raids at several Khaja-making units and seized products allegedly prepared using adulterated ingredients and in unhygienic conditions. Following the crackdown, Khaja sales in Puri have reportedly slowed down. The administration has said that quality checks and raids will continue.
