Rising water levels in Badamba, Cuttack district, have triggered flood concerns, with floodwater reaching the sanctum of the Maa Bhattarika Temple. The situation has caused concern among devotees and local residents after 28 Hirakud gates were opened, according to the source. The temple administration has imposed Section 163 and is closely monitoring the water level. Preparations are in place to shift Maa Bhattarika’s idol to a safer location if the water level rises by another two feet. Despite the flooding, the temple’s rituals and worship continue as per tradition without interruption. The official Odisha government lists the shrine as Bhattarika Temple, Badamba.
