A major accident occurred near Sheetla Mata Temple in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, when a rice-laden truck ran into devotees, killing 13 people and injuring 39 others who were admitted to hospital. Around five to six injured people are reported to be in critical condition, and two police personnel were also injured. The incident took place at around 1:30 AM on Sunday when the truck, coming from the Chinor side, lost control on a sloping road, broke through police barricades and rammed into devotees before hitting the temple gate and boundary wall. An investigation is underway to determine how the truck entered the area despite the barricades, and an RTO team has been assigned to examine possible mechanical faults.
