Heavy Rain Damages Bhog Mandap in Angul’s Chhendipada; Structure Collapses Into Drain

ଲଗାଣ ବର୍ଷାରୁ ଅନୁଗୋଳ ଛେଣ୍ଡିପଦା ବ୍ଲକ ସରପାଳ ଗାଁରେ ନୂଆଘାଇ ସୃଷ୍ଟି। ପାଣି କୂଳ ଖାଇବା ସହ ନାଳ ନିକଟରେ ଥିବା ମା ବାଟବାୟାଣୀଙ୍କ ଭୋଗ ମଣ୍ଡପ ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ଭାଙ୍ଗି ନାଳରେ ମିଶି ଯାଇଛି।ସରପାଳ ଗାଁର ଭାତ ହାଣ୍ଡି କୁହାଯାଉଥିବା ନୂଆଘାଇ ପୋଖରୀରେ ବନ୍ୟା ପାଣି ପ୍ରବେଶ କରି ପୋଖରୀ ଭର୍ତ୍ତି ହୋଇଯାଇଥିଲା। ଅତ୍ୟଧିକ ପାଣିକୁ ନୂଆଘାଇ ନାଳ ଦେଇ ଛଡା ଯାଉଥିବା ବେଳେ ପ୍ରଖର ସ୍ରୋତରେ ପାଣି ଆସି ପୋଲ ନିକଟରେ ନାଳ କୂଳ ଖାଇଯାଇଥିଲା।

Incessant rain has triggered a fresh breach in Sarapal village under Chhendipada block of Angul district, damaging the nearby area. As floodwater entered the Nuaghai pond, known locally as the “rice pot” of Sarapal village, the pond became full. Excess water was released through the Nuaghai drain, and the strong current eroded the bank near a bridge. The Bhog Mandap of Maa Batabayani Temple, located near the drain and the bridge built around 30 years ago, was completely damaged and collapsed into the drain. The incident has raised concern among locals amid the continuing heavy rain.
