Maa Gajalaxmi has been worshipped for 19 years at a height of 2,700 feet above sea level. An attractive entrance arch, colourful lights and the goddess’s golden idol are drawing devotees. The biggest attraction is a garland made from ₹50 currency notes worth ₹30,000, which is drawing crowds eager to see it.
Malpua, kheer and sirini are among the special offerings. The evening aarti, worship with 108 lamps and seven days of special bhog are adding to the devotional atmosphere.
Despite the area’s predominantly tribal population, devotees are arriving in large numbers every evening. OTV Koida correspondent Sunil Kumar Panda reports from the hill area.
