An alleged case of a minor girl becoming pregnant has come to light at a correctional home in the Garapur area under Kendrapada Sadar police station. The minor girl, a student from Jharkhand, was allegedly raped while staying at the correctional home. Police have arrested two persons in connection with the incident—one is a security guard at the correctional home, while the other is a minor inmate. Following the incident, the administration shifted the other inmates to another location. Police, the District Child Protection Unit and the Child Welfare Committee have launched an investigation. The victim’s family has lodged a complaint at Sadar police station.
