Mule Account Holder Arrested in ₹9 Lakh Cyber Fraud Case in Bhubaneswar

Commissionerate Police Cyber Police Station has arrested Rajendra Singh of Mayurbhanj for allegedly providing bank accounts to cyber fraudsters in a case involving more than ₹9 lakh in fraud. Police said the victim was lured through a fake Indian Bank credit-card advertisement on Facebook and was asked to download an app in the name of getting a credit card, following which money was allegedly siphoned from the victim’s account. According to police, ₹5 lakh of the defrauded money was transferred to Rajendra’s account. He allegedly opened five more bank accounts and provided them to others, receiving ₹6,000 in return for providing the accounts. Police have advised people to remain alert against online fraud.
