Nursing students under Maharaja Sriram Chandra Bhanja Deo University in Baripada, Mayurbhanj, say they are facing difficulties securing jobs outside Odisha as hospitals and nursing homes allegedly reject their certificates. Students claim the university is not listed on the Indian Nursing Council website and say the issue has affected them since 2018–19.

Students allege that repeated representations to the Registrar, Controller and Vice-Chancellor have not resolved the problem. A private nursing college principal says the matter eventually reached the court.
