Roadside slogans, shuttered shops and halted vehicles disrupted daily life during the 12-hour Odisha bandh observed by Congress and INDIA bloc allies on October 8. The protest focused on the mining law, textbook errors and voter list revision, affecting normal life across several parts of the state. While political parties pushed to make the bandh successful, the public faced disruptions to work, business and travel—raising the question: who actually benefits from the bandh?
