A statewide crackdown against suspected adulterated and synthetic paneer is underway in Odisha following concerns over paneer quality. Food Safety teams are conducting raids across different parts of the state, with large quantities of suspected fake paneer reportedly seized during inspections. The Supply Minister has said the government is taking action against manufacturers and traders involved in producing or selling fake products. Authorities are keeping a strict watch and fines may be imposed, while arrests could also be made if required. The crackdown intensified after synthetic or analogue paneer was reportedly banned in four states. Following raids and seizures across Odisha, paneer is now reportedly becoming scarce in shops and markets in several areas.
