Rising Water Level Forces Opening of Two Gates at Kaal Dam in Mayurbhanj

ମୟୁରଭଞ୍ଜ ଜିଲ୍ଲା କପ୍ତିପଦା ନିକଟ କାଳ ନଦୀରେ ଥିବା କାଳ ଡ୍ୟାମର ଦୁଇଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଖୋଲିଛି । ଉପରମୁଣ୍ଡରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ବର୍ଷା କାରଣରୁ ଡ୍ୟାମର ଜଳସ୍ତର ବୃଦ୍ଧି ପାଇଛି । ଜଳଧାରଣ କ୍ଷମତା ୭୭ ଦମଶିକ ୭ ମିଟର ଥିବା ବେଳେ ଏହା ବିପଦ ସଙ୍କେତକୁ ଛୁଇଁଥିଲା ।ଫଳରେ ସ୍ଥିତିକୁ ଦେଖି ଡ୍ୟାମର ଦୁଇଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଖୋଲାଯାଇଛି । ଡ୍ୟାମ୍ ଭିତରକୁ ପ୍ରତି ସେକେଣ୍ଡରେ ୨୧୫ କ୍ୟୁମେକ୍ସ ଜଳ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରୁଥିବା ବେଳେ ୧୫୬ କ୍ୟୁମେକ୍ସ ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଉଛି ।

Two gates of the Kaal Dam on the Kaal River near Kaptipada in Odisha's Mayurbhanj district have been opened after the water level increased due to continuous heavy rainfall in the upper catchment area. The dam, which has a storage capacity of 77.7 metres, reached the danger mark, prompting authorities to release water after assessing the situation. Currently, 215 cumecs of water are flowing into the reservoir every second, while 156 cumecs are being discharged.
