S Jaishankar, Ex-Army Chief Among VIPs Issued SIR Notices in Delhi

ବୈଦେଶିକ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ, ପୂର୍ବତନ ସେନା ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଏବଂ ସିବିଆଇ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶକଙ୍କୁ SIR ନୋଟିସ୍ । ଭାରତର ବୈଦେଶିକ ମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ଏସ. ଜୟଶଙ୍କର, ପୂର୍ବତନ ସେନା ମୁଖ୍ୟ ଜେନେରାଲ ଉପେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଦ୍ୱିବେଦୀ ଏବଂ ସିବିଆଇ ନିର୍ଦ୍ଦେଶକ ପ୍ରବୀଣ ସୁଦଙ୍କ ଭଳି ଅନେକ ହାଇ-ପ୍ରୋଫାଇଲ୍ ଭିଭିଆଇପି ଙ୍କୁ ନିର୍ବାଚନ କମିଶନଙ୍କ ତରଫରୁ ନୋଟିସ୍ ଜାରି କରାଯାଇଛି। ଭୋଟର ତାଲିକାରେ ତଥ୍ୟର ଅମେଳ କିମ୍ବା ପୁରୁଣା ରେକର୍ଡର ଡିଜିଟାଲ୍ ସଂଯୋଗ ହୋଇପାରିନଥିବାରୁ ଏହି ନୋଟିସ୍ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି। ବିଶେଷ କରି ନୂଆଦିଲ୍ଲୀ ବିଧାନସଭା ନିର୍ବାଚନ ମଣ୍ଡଳୀର ଭୋଟର ତାଲିକା ଯାଞ୍ଚ ସମୟରେ ଏହି ତ୍ରୁଟି ସାମ୍ନାକୁ ଆସିଥିଲା । ନିର୍ବାଚନ କମିଶନଙ୍କ ସୂଚନାନୁସାରେ, ଏହି ଭିଭିଆଇପିମାନଙ୍କର ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନର ଭୋଟର ରେକର୍ଡ ୨୦୦୨ ମସିହାର ମୂଳ ଭୋଟର ତାଲିକା ସହ ଡିଜିଟାଲ୍ ଭାବେ ଲିଙ୍କ୍ ହୋଇପାରି ନାହିଁ। ଏହି କାରଣରୁ ସେମାନଙ୍କୁ ପୂର୍ବ ସଂଶୋଧନ ସହ ଅସଂଯୁକ୍ତ ଶ୍ରେଣୀରେ ରଖାଯାଇଛି। ଦିଲ୍ଲୀ ମୁଖ୍ୟ ନିର୍ବାଚନ ଅଧିକାରୀ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ କରିଛନ୍ତି ଯେ, ନୋଟିସ୍ ମିଳିବାର ଅର୍ଥ ଭୋଟର ତାଲିକାରୁ ନାମ କଟିଯିବା ନୁହେଁ। ଏହା କେବଳ ଏକ ସାଧାରଣ ସଂଶୋଧନ ଓ ଯାଞ୍ଚ ପ୍ରକ୍ରିୟା, ଯାହା ଦ୍ୱାରା ପୁରୁଣା ତଥ୍ୟର ତ୍ରୁଟି ସୁଧାରାଯାଇପାରିବ । ନିଜର ସଠିକ୍ ଦସ୍ତାବିଜ୍ ଓ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟୀକରଣ ଦାଖଲ କରିବା ପାଇଁ ସେପ୍ଟେମ୍ବର ୩୦ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ସମୟ ଦିଆଯାଇଛି। ଆସନ୍ତା ନଭେମ୍ବର ୪ ରେ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀର ଚୂଡ଼ାନ୍ତ ଭୋଟର ତାଲିକା ପ୍ରକାଶ ପାଇବାକୁ ଯାଉଛି।

External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar, former Army Chief General Upendra Dwivedi and CBI Director Praveen Sood are among prominent voters who have received notices during Delhi’s Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. Their current voter records could not be mapped to the 2002 electoral roll, placing them in the unmapped category. The Delhi Chief Electoral Officer has clarified that receiving an SIR notice does not mean that a voter’s name will automatically be deleted; it is part of the verification process. The affected voters have been given time to submit documents and clarifications, with the final electoral roll scheduled to be published on November 4.
