Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s remarks comparing Lord Shiva and Lord Ram have triggered a political controversy. At a media conclave in Delhi, Revanth Reddy reportedly described himself as a Dravidian and a devotee of Lord Shiva, while referring to Lord Ram as the “God of the rich” and Lord Shiva as the “God of the poor.” The BJP has strongly criticised the remarks, while Telangana Congress has defended the Chief Minister. The comments have sparked a wider political debate over the contrasting references to Lord Ram and Lord Shiva.
