A bandh is being observed in Sindhekela of Balangir over concerns about the deteriorating law-and-order situation. Gold ornaments and a silver crown were reportedly stolen from Maa Dwarashuni Temple on the 7th. In another incident, more than five miscreants allegedly entered the house of a gold trader near the police station and reportedly looted ₹25 lakh along with gold biscuits. Repeated incidents of this nature have triggered concern and led to the bandh call in Sindhekela.
