A powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday, leaving at least 111 people dead, while more than 150 deaths are feared, according to reports cited in the source. Dozens of buildings collapsed, several people remain trapped under rubble, and thousands of residents have been forced to leave their homes and move to safer places. The epicentre was near San José del Palmar in the Chocó region, around 400 kilometres west of Bogotá, at a depth of about 107 kilometres. Tremors were also felt in neighbouring Ecuador.
