ଅଗଷ୍ଟ ୨୧। ସେଦିନ ଥିଲା ଶୁକ୍ରବାର। ସବୁ ଠିକଠାକ୍ ଚାଲିଥିଲା। ପାରାଦୀପରୁ ଚୀନ୍ ଅଭିମୁଖେ ଯାଉଥିଲା ଜାହାଜ। ରାତି ପ୍ରାୟ ୧୦ଟା ୩୧ ମିନିଟ୍। ହଠାତ୍ ଜାହାଜ ଗୋଟିଏ ପଟକୁ ଢଳିବା ଆରମ୍ଭ କଲା। ଜାହାଜ ବୁଡ଼ିବାକୁ ଯାଉଥିବା ଜାଣି ଡିସଟ୍ରେସ୍ ଆଲାର୍ମ ବଜାଇଥିଲେ କ୍ୟାପଟେନ। ଜାହାଜ ଉପରକୁ ଚାଲିଆସିଥିଲେ ୧୦ ନାବିକ। ଅନ୍ୟ ୧୪ ଜାହାଜ ଭିତରେ ରହିଯାଇଥିଲେ। ମାତ୍ର ୬ରୁ ୭ ମିନିଟ ମଧ୍ୟରେ ବୁଡ଼ି ଯାଇଯାଇଥିଲା ଓସନ୍ ୱିନର୍।
On August 21, the cargo vessel Ocean Winner was sailing from Paradip towards China when the situation suddenly turned critical at around 10:31 PM. According to the crew, the vessel began tilting to one side without warning. Realising that the ship was in danger of sinking, the captain activated the distress alarm. Ten sailors managed to come up onto the deck, while another 14 remained inside the vessel. Within just 6 to 7 minutes, the Ocean Winner sank, leaving the crew and authorities facing a major maritime emergency.
