Nepal is demanding climate justice and compensation after the devastating Bhotekoshi River flood on August 26. The disaster caused widespread destruction, with homes, roads, bridges and critical infrastructure severely damaged, while thousands of people were reported missing in the source text. Nepal Foreign Minister Shishir Khanal said the country contributes very little to global greenhouse-gas emissions but is facing severe consequences of global warming.
