Excess sugar in food products meant for babies has raised serious concerns among parents. A new proposal by the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) aims to introduce stricter regulations for certain food products, bringing the issue of sugar content in infant food into focus.
The report highlights concerns over sugar being added to food products intended for babies, including those aged up to six months. Experts warn that excessive sugar consumption can contribute to unhealthy eating habits and increase the risk of obesity later in life.
The proposed regulations could bring tighter scrutiny of food products marketed for infants and young children. Parents are advised to check product labels and stay informed about official food safety guidelines.
