The family of a Class VI student at the Eklavya Model Residential School in Sundargarh has alleged that he was made to perform 800 sit-ups for disobeying older students. The student subsequently fell ill and required hospital treatment, and a departmental inquiry into the incident has been initiated. Serious questions have now been raised regarding student safety and discipline at the residential school.
