Ahead of the panchayat and municipal elections, the Odisha government has constituted the State Commission for Backward Classes (SEBC) for socially and educationally backward classes. Retired Odisha High Court judge Justice Pramath Patnaik has been appointed as its chairman, while retired IAS officer Bijay Kumar Prusti has been appointed a member and Special Secretary Sujata Mishra as Member Secretary. The key question now is—will backward classes get reservation?
