With college elections approaching, campus politics is heating up as candidates adopt different ways to attract voters. In a notable scene outside MPC Autonomous College in Baripada, student candidates were seen cleaning up litter after their election campaign. The candidates reportedly threw paper on the road during campaigning and later picked up brooms to clean the area themselves.

The initiative has drawn attention locally and on social media. People have welcomed the candidates’ sense of responsibility, saying leaders should show such concern for cleanliness even before winning elections.

However, whether this was an election stunt or a genuine display of civic responsibility remains to be seen. The candidates’ effort has nevertheless sent a message about keeping public spaces clean during election campaigns.
