The proposed queue-based darshan system at Shree Jagannath Temple in Puri is expected to begin soon, according to Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan. A ramp has been prepared as per the design, and the Pratihari Nijog will inspect it before discussions with other Nijogs and the temple management committee. The system will be introduced on a trial basis after consensus and a final decision. Meanwhile, the Pratihari Nijog has proposed rope or man-made barricades as an alternative, but the Law Minister said these may not be suitable during heavy crowds.
