Rourkela, known as Odisha’s second Smart City, the ‘Mini India’, a Hockey World Cup city and an education hub, is still waiting for its first mayor. The last municipal election in the city was held in 2008, and after the term ended in 2013, no municipal election was held. Meanwhile, Rourkela has since been transformed into the Rourkela Municipal Corporation (RMC). The key question now is: when will the RMC election finally be held?
