A ₹113-crore Science Academy built near Sathipur in Jajpur has allegedly turned into a neglected structure, with overgrown vegetation and deteriorating artworks. The project, planned to provide modern science education and exhibition facilities, was funded through the DMF and construction began in 2020-21 under NBCC. Locals allege that the project remains incomplete internally despite its finished exterior and question how the funds were utilised. Jajpur Collector Amber Kumar Kar said the sanctioned budget has been spent and that a review will be conducted before the next course of action is decided. Residents have demanded an inquiry into the alleged irregularities and urged the government to make the project functional soon.
