The Enforcement Directorate (ED) conducted searches on the 5th in connection with a ₹2,000-crore fraud case. Under Section 17 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA), 2002, the agency searched various business establishments linked to M/s Welfare Buildings and Estates Private Limited and its directors, Mala Vijay Prasad and Varaha Ramakrishna Satya Sri Srinivasa Rao.
