₹30-Crore DMF Project Develops Cracks Before Handover in Sundargarh’s Koida
A 1,000-bed workers’ rest house constructed near Teherai Chhak in Koida block of Sundargarh district has raised questions over construction quality after cracks appeared on its walls and soil reportedly collapsed following rain, even before the new building has been handed over. Construction of the project began in 2020 with an estimated cost of around ₹30 crore from the DMF fund, and it was originally planned for completion by 2022. However, the project remains awaiting handover even after eight months of 2026. Local residents have raised allegations of possible irregularities and claimed that the work was not properly supervised, while the condition of the new building has also raised concerns over its durability.
