A five-member Banjara gang was allegedly caught stealing from devotees at the Station Bazar Puja pandal while taking advantage of the festive crowds. The accused were reportedly targeting people in the gathering, stealing purses and snatching gold chains amid the rush.

The incident came to light when a woman noticed a man allegedly trying to snatch the gold chain from her neck and caught the suspect. Local people then caught the accused and assaulted him. Police reached the spot and rescued the suspect from the crowd.

The incident highlights the need for devotees to remain vigilant against theft and chain-snatching during crowded Durga Puja celebrations. Further details of the case were not provided in the report.
