Bridge construction over the Mandakini River near Champatipur on the Nayagarh Ranpur-Rajsunakhela road began five years ago, but the work is yet to be fully completed. A temporary bridge built for public movement during construction was washed away after the Mandakini River swelled during the monsoon, severely affecting traffic on the route. The permanent bridge deck has been completed, but the approach roads on both sides are yet to be paved, with construction materials and large stones still lying on the road.

Light vehicles are currently moving, while concerns remain over the movement of heavy vehicles on the incomplete approach roads. The Ranpur Works Department has said there is no issue with heavy vehicles crossing the bridge and that any settlement at the connecting portions will be repaired by the contractor. The Assistant Engineer has stated that the bridge work will be completed within the next seven days.
