₹9.24 Crore Alleged Fraud: Two Odisha R&B Officials Arrested by Vigilance

ସରକାରୀ ଅର୍ଥ ହଡ଼ପ ଅଭିଯୋଗରେ ଫସିଲେ ଦୁଇ ସରକାରୀ ଅଧିକାରୀ। ଭୁବନେଶ୍ବର R&B ଡିଭିଜନ-୧ ସେକ୍ସନ ଅଫିସର୍ ବନଲତା ମହାନ୍ତି ଓ ଜୁନିୟର ଆସିଷ୍ଟାଣ୍ଟ ବିଭୁଦତ୍ତ ନାୟକ ଗିରଫ । ୯ କୋଟି ୨୪ ଲକ୍ଷରୁ ଅଧିକ ଟଙ୍କା ହଡ଼ପ ଅଭିଯୋଗରେ ଉଭୟଙ୍କୁ ବାନ୍ଧିଲା ଭିଜିଲାନ୍ସ । ଜାଲ୍ ବିଲ୍ ଓ ନକଲି ସାଙ୍କସନ୍ ଅର୍ଡର ଜରିଆରେ ସରକାରୀ ଟଙ୍କାକୁ ହଡ଼ପ ହୋଇଥିବା ଜଣାପଡ଼ିଛି । ଉଭୟେ ଏଷ୍ଟାବ୍ଲିସମେଣ୍ଟ ସେକ୍ସନରେ କାର୍ଯ୍ୟରତ ଥିଲେ। ଅଜଣା ସହଯୋଗୀଙ୍କ ସହ ମିଶି ଏହି ଅର୍ଥ ହଡ଼ପ ଷଡ଼ଯନ୍ତ୍ର କରିଥିବା ଭିଜିଲାନ୍ସ ଜାଣିବାକୁ ପାଇଛି । ଘଟଣା ଧରାପଡ଼ିବା ପରେ ପ୍ରଶାସନିକ କର୍ତ୍ତୃପକ୍ଷ ୩ କୋଟି ୯୬ ଲକ୍ଷ ଟଙ୍କା ଫେରସ୍ତ ପାଇଛନ୍ତି।

Two government officials of Bhubaneswar R&B Division-1—Section Officer Banalata Mohanty and Junior Assistant Bibhudatta Nayak—have been arrested by the Vigilance Directorate over an alleged misappropriation of more than ₹9.24 crore in government funds. According to the Vigilance investigation, fake bills and forged sanction orders were allegedly prepared between the 2022-23 and 2025-26 financial years in the names of provisional gratuity, leave salary and office contingency funds, and were allegedly processed through IFMS. Bank account details were allegedly changed in the fake bills, with the money transferred to 77 bank accounts linked to 48 people, including relatives, acquaintances and associates of the accused. Both officials were posted in the Establishment Section. After the alleged irregularity came to light, the administration recovered ₹3.96 crore.
