Ancient Odia Inscription of Gajapati Kapilendra Deva Found in Andhra Pradesh

ଆନ୍ଧ୍ର ଟେକାଲିରୁ ମିଳିଲା ଗଜପତି କପିଳେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଦେବଙ୍କ ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଶିଳାଲେଖ। ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଭାରତରେ କଳିଙ୍ଗ ଐତିହ୍ୟର ସନ୍ଧାନ କରୁଥିବା ‘ରି-ଡିସ୍କଭର ଲଷ୍ଟ ହେରିଟେଜ ଟ୍ରଷ୍ଟ’ର ସଦସ୍ୟ ଦୀପକ କୁମାର ନାୟକ ଓ ବିକ୍ରମ କୁମାର ନାୟକ ଏହି ଶିଳାଲେଖଟିକୁ ଠାବ କରିଥିବା ଦାବି କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଐତିହ୍ୟ ଗବେଷକ ଦୀପକ କୁମାର ନାୟକଙ୍କ କହିବା କଥା, ଏହି ଶିଳାଲେଖ ବିଷୟରେ ୧୯୨୬-୨୭ ମସିହାରେ ପ୍ରକାଶିତ 'Annual Report on Indian Epigraphy' ପୁସ୍ତକରେ ଉଲ୍ଲେଖ ରହିଛି। ଏହି ତଥ୍ୟ ଆଧାରରେ ଟେକାଲି ରାଜ ପରିବାରର ସଦସ୍ୟ ଲଳିତ କୁମାର ଦେବଙ୍କ ସହ ଯୋଗାଯୋଗ କରିଥିଲେ। ତାଙ୍କ ସହାୟତା ଫଳରେ ଟେକାଲି ରାଜପ୍ରସାଦରୁ ଏହି ଶିଳାଲେଖଟିକୁ ଠାବ କରିଥିବା କହିଛନ୍ତି ଐତିହ୍ୟ ଗବେଷକ। ଓଡ଼ିଆ ଲିପି ଓ ଭାଷାରେ ଲେଖାଥିବା ଏହି ଶିଳାଲେଖଟିର ପ୍ରଥମ ଧାଡିଟି ସମ୍ପୂର୍ଣ୍ଣ ନଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇଯାଇଛି। ତଥାପି ଦ୍ବିିତୀୟ ଓ ତୃତୀୟ ଧାଡିରେ ପ୍ରତାପ କପିଳେଶ୍ବର ବା ଗଜପତି କପିଳେନ୍ଦ୍ର ଦେବଙ୍କ ନାମ ଖୋଦିତ ହୋଇଛି। ଚତୁର୍ଥ ଧାଡିରେ ବିଜେ ରାଇଜେ ଲେଖା ଅଛି। ଯାହା କପିଳେଶ୍ବର ଦେବଙ୍କ ଶାସନ କାଳ କେଉଁ ଅଙ୍କରେ ଖୋଦିିତ ହୋଇଥିଲା, ତାହା ଜଣାପଡୁନାହିଁ। ଓଡ଼ିଶାରେ ଗଜପତି କପିଳେନ୍ଦ୍ରଦେବଙ୍କ ଶାସନକାଳ ପଞ୍ଚଦଶ ଶତାବ୍ଦୀରେ ଚାଲିଥିଲା, ତେଣୁ ଶିଳାଲେଖଟି ୧୫ଶ ଶତାବ୍ଦୀ ସମୟର ହୋଇପାରେ ବି ବୋଲି ଅନୁମାନ କରାଯାଇପାରେ ବୋଲି ସୂଚନା ଦେଇଛନ୍ତି ଗବେଷକ ଦୀପକ କୁମାର ନାୟକ।

An Odia inscription linked to Gajapati Kapilendra Deva has reportedly been traced at Tekkali in Andhra Pradesh. Members of the ‘Re-Discover Lost Heritage Trust’, heritage researchers Deepak Kumar Nayak and Bikram Kumar Nayak, claim to have located the inscription at the Tekkali royal palace with the help of royal family member Lalit Kumar Dev. According to researcher Deepak Kumar Nayak, the inscription had been mentioned in the 1926-27 Annual Report on Indian Epigraphy. Written in the Odia script and language, the first line is completely damaged, while the second and third lines bear the name Pratapa Kapileswara, identified with Gajapati Kapilendra Deva. The fourth line contains the words “Bije Raije”. Researchers say the exact regnal year cannot be determined, while the inscription may date back to the 15th century, when Kapilendra Deva ruled Odisha.
