ଓଡ଼ିଶାରେ ନ୍ୟୁକ୍ଲିୟର ପାୱାର ପ୍ଲାଣ୍ଟ ସ୍ଥାପନ ହେବ। ଏଥିପାଇଁ ଦେଢ଼ ଲକ୍ଷ କୋଟି ଟଙ୍କାର ପୁଞ୍ଜି ନିବେଶ କରାଯିବା ସହ ୨୮୦୦ ରୁ ୩୦୦୦ ମେଗାୱାଟ୍ କ୍ଷମତା ବିଶିଷ୍ଟ ପ୍ଲାଣ୍ଟ ବସାଯିବ। ଏହାକୁ ନେଇ ତେଜିଛି ରାଜନୀତି। ବିଜେଡି ଏହି ପ୍ଲାଣ୍ଟକୁ ବିରୋଧ କରିବା ସହ କହିଛି, ନ୍ୟୁକ୍ଲିୟର ପ୍ଲାଣ୍ଟ ମାଲିକାନା ସବୁବେଳେ ସରକାରଙ୍କ ପାଖରେ ରହେ। ତେବେ ଆଶ୍ଚର୍ଯ୍ୟର କଥା, ଏହି ପ୍ଲାଣ୍ଟ ପାଇଁ ଘରୋଇ ସଂସ୍ଥାକୁ ଅନୁମତି ଦିଆଯାଉଛି। ସରକାର ନିୟମାବଳୀକୁ ସଂଶୋଧନ କରି ତରବରିଆ ଭାବେ ରାତିଅଧିଆ ନୂଆ ଆଇନ ଆଣିଛନ୍ତି, ଯେଉଁଥିରେ କେବଳ ଘରୋଇ ସଂସ୍ଥାଙ୍କୁ ସାମିଲ କରାଯିବ।
The proposed 2,800–3,000 MW nuclear power plant in Odisha, with a planned investment of ₹1.5 lakh crore, has sparked a political confrontation between the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Opposing the proposal, the BJD claimed that nuclear power plants should remain under government ownership and questioned the move to allow private entities to participate. The party also alleged that the government amended regulations and introduced a new law to facilitate private sector involvement, intensifying the political debate over the project.
