BJP and INDIA Bloc Hold Parallel Rallies in Delhi, Political Tensions Rise

ଗୋଟିଏ ପଟେ ଇଣ୍ଡି ମେଣ୍ଟର ମହାରାଲି, ଅନ୍ୟପଟେ ବିଜେପିର ପ୍ରତିବାଦ ପଦଯାତ୍ରା। ୧୯୮୪ ମସିହାର ଶିଖ୍ ବିରୋଧୀ ହିଂସାକୁ ନେଇ ଦିଲ୍ଲୀରେ କଂଗ୍ରେସ ବିରୋଧରେ ରାସ୍ତାକୁ ଓହ୍ଲାଇଛି ବିଜେପି। ହରିନଗରରୁ ତିଳକ ନଗର ଯାଏଁ ପଦଯାତ୍ରା କରି କଂଗ୍ରେସକୁ ଘେରିଛି ଦଳ। ୧୯୮୪ ହିଂସା ତାରିଖରେ କଂଗ୍ରେସ ରାଲି ଆୟୋଜନ କରିଥିବାରୁ ଏହାକୁ ନେଇ ଆପତ୍ତି ଉଠାଇଛି ବିଜେପି । ଏହା ଶିଖ୍ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟର ଭାବନାକୁ ଆଘାତ ଦେଇଛି ବୋଲି ଅଭିଯୋଗ କରିଛି । ହିଂସାରେ ପ୍ରାଣ ହରାଇଥିବା ଲୋକଙ୍କ ପାଇଁ ନ୍ୟାୟ ଏବଂ କଂଗ୍ରେସର କ୍ଷମା ପ୍ରାର୍ଥନା ଦାବି କରିଛି ଦଳ। ଏହି ପ୍ରତିବାଦ ପଦଯାତ୍ରାରେ କେନ୍ଦ୍ରମନ୍ତ୍ରୀ ହରଦୀପ ସିଂହ ପୁରୀଙ୍କ ସମେତ ବିଜେପିର ବହୁ ବରିଷ୍ଠ ନେତା ଓ ଶିଖ୍ ସମ୍ପ୍ରଦାୟର ଲୋକେ ସାମିଲ ହୋଇଥିଲେ। ସେପଟେ ଦେଶର ମୁଖ୍ୟ ନିର୍ବାଚନ କମିଶନର ଜ୍ଞାନେଶ କୁମାରଙ୍କ ଇସ୍ତଫା ଏବଂ ଭୋଟର ତାଲିକାର ସ୍ୱତନ୍ତ୍ର ସଘନ ସଂଶୋଧନ ବା SIR ରଦ୍ଦ ଦାବି କରି ଇଣ୍ଡିଆ ବ୍ଲକ କନଟ୍ ପ୍ଲେସ୍ ଆଉଟର ସର୍କଲ୍ ରାସ୍ତାରୁ ରାମଲୀଳା ମଇଦାନ ପର୍ଯ୍ୟନ୍ତ ଏକ ଶୋଭାଯାତ୍ରା କରିଥିଲା।

Delhi witnessed parallel political demonstrations as the BJP held a protest march against the Congress over the 1984 anti-Sikh riots, while the INDIA bloc organised a rally demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and the withdrawal of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The BJP march, from Hari Nagar to Tilak Nagar, objected to the Congress organising a rally on the anniversary of the 1984 violence, alleging that it hurt the sentiments of the Sikh community. The party demanded justice for the victims and an apology from the Congress. Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri and several senior BJP leaders participated in the march. Meanwhile, INDIA bloc leaders took out a procession from Connaught Place's Outer Circle to Ramlila Maidan, raising demands over the Chief Election Commissioner's resignation and the SIR exercise.
