Torrential rain has triggered severe flooding in Chitrakoot as the Mandakini River swells and inundates large parts of the pilgrimage town. More than 400 shops have been submerged, while Ramghat and Bharatghat are under water. Roads have turned into waterways, with boats being used for movement, while railway tracks have also been submerged.
