ଗଣେଶ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି ବିସର୍ଜନ ବେଳେ ଅଘଟଣ। ପୋଖରୀରେ ବୁଡ଼ି ନବମ ଶ୍ରେଣୀ ଛାତ୍ରର ମୃତ୍ୟୁ। ଏଭଳି ହୃଦୟ ବିଦାରକ ଖବର ଆସିଛି ଭଦ୍ରକ ଜିଲ୍ଲା ଚାନ୍ଦବାଲି ବ୍ଲକ ଦିଗଛିଆ ଅଞ୍ଚଳରୁ। ଦିଗଛିଆରେ ଥିବା ବିଶ୍ୱଭାରତୀ ଆବାସିକ ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟର କିଛି ଛାତ୍ର ଗଣେଶ ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି ବିସର୍ଜନ ପାଇଁ ନିକଟସ୍ଥ ସରକାରୀ କୃଷି ଗବେଷଣା କେନ୍ଦ୍ର ପୋଖରୀକୁ ଯାଇଥିଲେ। ମୂର୍ତ୍ତି ବିସର୍ଜନ ବେଳେ ଗୋଡ଼ ଖସି ଯିବାରୁ ଜଣେ ଛାତ୍ର ପାଣିରେ ବୁଡ଼ି ଯାଇଥିଲେ। ସାଥୀ ଛାତ୍ରମାନେ ବହୁ ଖୋଜାଖୋଜି ପରେ ନ ପାଇବାରୁ ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ କର୍ତ୍ତୃପକ୍ଷଙ୍କୁ ଜଣାଇଥିଲେ। କର୍ତ୍ତୃପକ୍ଷ ବହୁ ଖୋଜିବା ପରେ ବି ନପାଇବାରୁ ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ ବିଭାଗକୁ ଖବର ଦେଇଥିଲେ। ଅଗ୍ନିଶମ କର୍ମଚାରୀ ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳରେ ପହଞ୍ଚି ଛାତ୍ରଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିଥିଲେ। ହେଲେ ସେତେବେଳକୁ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ଘଟି ସାରିଥିଲା। ମୃତ ଛାତ୍ର ଜଣକ ହେଉଛନ୍ତି ପୀୟୂଷ ଦାସ। ତାଙ୍କ ଘର ଭଦ୍ରକ ଚରମ୍ପା ଅଞ୍ଚଳରେ ବୋଲି ଜଣାପଡିଛି। ସେ ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟର ହଷ୍ଟେଲରେ ରହି ପାଠ ପଢୁଥିଲେ। ଅଘଟଣ ପାଇଁ ବିଦ୍ୟାଳୟ କର୍ତ୍ତୃପକ୍ଷଙ୍କ ଦାୟିତ୍ୱହୀନତାକୁ ଦାୟୀ କରିଛନ୍ତି ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଲୋକେ।..

A Class 9 student died after drowning in a pond during Ganesh idol immersion in Digachhia area of Chandabali block in Bhadrak district. Some students of Biswabharati Residential School had gone to a pond at the nearby Government Agricultural Research Centre for the immersion. During the immersion, the student reportedly slipped and fell into the water. His fellow students searched for him and informed the school authorities, following which the Fire Services team was alerted. Fire personnel reached the spot and rescued the student, but he had already died. The deceased has been identified as Piyush Das of Charampa area in Bhadrak, who was staying at the school hostel. Locals have alleged negligence on the part of the school authorities.
