ଏ ଘରକୁ ଦେଖିଲେ ହିଁ ବୁଝିହେବ... କେତେ କଷ୍ଟରେ ଚାଲୁଛି ଏ ସଂସାର। ଘରର ଛାତ ଏମିତି ଯେ, ଭିତରୁ ସୂର୍ଯ୍ୟ ଦେଖାଯାଏ। ବର୍ଷା ହେଲେ ଛାତରୁ ପାଣି ନ ପଡ଼ିବା ପାଇଁ ଆଟୁ ଉପରେ ରଖାଯାଉଛି ବାଲ୍ଟି। ଏଇ ଘରେ ରହୁଛନ୍ତି ପୋଡ଼ାଗଡ଼ ଗାଁର ଝଟକ ବଳ। ପ୍ରାୟ ୧୦ ବର୍ଷ ହେଲା ସ୍ୱାମୀ ଆରପାରିକୁ ଚାଲିଗଲେ। ଘରେ ଅଛି ଅକର୍ମଣ୍ୟ ପୁଅ। ନିଜେ ଠିକ୍ ରେ ଚାଲିପାରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ, କାମ ବି କରିପାରନ୍ତି ନାହିଁ। ଆଠ ବର୍ଷ ହେଲା ଭତ୍ତା ପାଉଥିଲେ ଝଟକ। ସେହି ଟଙ୍କାରେ ଦୈନନ୍ଦିନ ଆବଶ୍ୟକତା ସହ ଔଷଧ ବି କିଣୁଥିଲେ। ହେଲେ ହଠାତ୍ କାଗଜରେ ତାଙ୍କୁ ମୃତ ଦର୍ଶାଇ ଦିଆଗଲା। ଆଉ ତା'ପରେ ବନ୍ଦ ହୋଇଗଲା ଭତ୍ତା।

A woman from Podagad village has allegedly been shown as ‘dead’ in government records, following which her social security allowance was stopped. Jhatak Bala has been living in a severely dilapidated house, where sunlight enters through the damaged roof and buckets are placed inside to collect rainwater. Her husband passed away around 10 years ago, while her son is unable to work. Jhatak has also been unable to walk properly or work herself. She had been receiving an allowance for the past eight years and depended on the money for daily needs and medicines. However, the allowance was suddenly stopped after she was recorded as deceased in official documents.
