Deep Depression Likely to Make Landfall Within Hours

ବଙ୍ଗୋପସାଗରରୁ ସ୍ଥଳଭାଗ ମୁହାଁ ଗଭୀର ଅବପାତ। ଭୀଷଣ ରୂପ ଧାରଣ କରି ଏବେ ଘଣ୍ଟାକୁ ୭ କିଲୋମିଟର ବେଗରେ ସ୍ଥଳଭାଗ ଆଡକୁ ମୁହାଁଇଛି ଡିପ୍ ଡିପ୍ରେସନ୍। ପାଣିପାଗ ବିଭାଗ ଆକଳନ କରିଛି, ଆଉ ୩ ଘଣ୍ଟା ଭିତରେ ଏହା ସ୍ଥଳଭାଗ ଛୁଇଁବ। ରାତି ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଉତ୍ତର ଆନ୍ଧ୍ର-ଦକ୍ଷିଣ ଓଡ଼ିଶା ଉପକୂଳ କଳିଙ୍ଗପଟ୍ଟନମ ନିକଟରେ ସ୍ଥଳଭାଗ ଅତିକ୍ରମ କରିବ ଗଭୀର ଅବପାତ। ଲ୍ୟାଣ୍ଡଫଲ ସମୟରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ବର୍ଷା ସାଙ୍ଗକୁ ଘଣ୍ଟା ପ୍ରତି ୫୦ରୁ ୬୦ କିଲୋମିଟର ବେଗରେ ପବନ ବହିପାରେ ବୋଲି ସତର୍କ କରାଇଛି ପାଣିପାଗ ବିଭାଗ। ଲ୍ୟାଣ୍ଡଫଲ୍ ପରେ ପବନର ବେଗ ଧୀରେ ଧୀରେ ହ୍ରାସ ପାଇବ। ପାଣିପାଗ ନେଇ IMD ଡିଜି ଡକ୍ଟର ମୃତ୍ୟୁଞ୍ଜୟ ମହାପାତ୍ରଙ୍କ ବଡ଼ ସୂଚନା ।

A deep depression over the Bay of Bengal is moving towards the landmass at a speed of 7 kmph and is expected to cross the coast within the next three hours. The system is likely to make landfall near Kalingapatnam along the North Andhra-South Odisha coast by tonight. The weather department has warned of heavy rainfall and winds reaching 50 to 60 kmph during landfall. After landfall, wind speeds are expected to gradually decrease. IMD Director General Dr Mrutyunjay Mohapatra has shared a major update on the weather system and its expected impact.
