Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum met Indian flydubai Captain Smit Machchhar at a UAE hospital and enquired about his health. Sheikh Hamdan praised Machchhar for his courage, responsibility and efforts to protect the lives of passengers and crew during the cockpit attack on Flydubai flight FZ1073 from Dubai to Tel Aviv. The captain was injured after being attacked by his co-pilot but managed to open the cockpit door, allowing passengers and other crew members to intervene.
