A looter gang has become active in Dhenkanal ahead of the festive season. In some incidents, miscreants are allegedly snatching gold chains from people in a matter of seconds, while in other cases, they are reportedly entering houses and carrying out robberies by threatening residents with weapons. With one robbery and snatching incident after another being reported during the festive season, police concerns have increased. The most sensational incident took place last week in Belmalia village under Nihalprasad police station in Gondia block.
