Five Orangutans Rescued from Balasore Reach Nandankanan Zoo

ବାଲେଶ୍ୱରରୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର ହୋଇଥିବା ବିରଳ ଜନ୍ତୁ ଓରାଙ୍ଗ ଓଟାନ ପହଞ୍ଚିଲା ନନ୍ଦନକାନନ ପ୍ରାଣୀ ଉଦ୍ୟାନରେ। କିଛି ସମୟ ଆଗରୁ ଭୋଗରାଇରୁ ୫ଟି ଓରାଙ୍ଗ ଓଟାନକୁ ଧରି ପହଞ୍ଚିଛି ସ୍ବତନ୍ତ୍ର ଟିମ୍। ନନ୍ଦନକାନନରେ ପ୍ରଥମେ କ୍ବାରେଣ୍ଟିନରେ ରଖାଯିବ ବୋଲି ସୂଚନା ମିଳିଛି। ତେବେ ଭୋଗରାଇ ଜଙ୍ଗଲରେ ହଠାତ କେଉଁଠୁ ଆସି ପହଞ୍ଚିଥିଲେ ବଣ ମଣିଷ ଭଳି ଦେଖାଯାଉଥିବା ଏହି ୫ଟି ବିରଳ ଓରାଙ୍ଗ ଓଟାନ୍, ସେନେଇ ସ୍ପଷ୍ଟ ହୋଇନାହିିଁ। ପ୍ରେସମିଟ କରି ବାଲେଶ୍ବର ଡିଏଫଓ କହିଛନ୍ତି, ବର୍ତ୍ତମାନ ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଓରାଙ୍ଗଓଟାନଙ୍କୁ ଚାଲାଣ କରାଯାଇଥିବା ନେଇ କୌଣସି ପ୍ରମାଣ ମିଳିନାହିଁ। ତେବେ ଘଟଣାରେ ସ୍ମଗଲିଂ ଦିଗକୁ ନେଇ କଡ଼ାକଡ଼ି ତଦନ୍ତ କରାଯିବ ବୋଲି ଡିଏଫଓ ଇନ୍ଦଲକର୍ ପ୍ରତୀକ ପ୍ରକାଶ କହିଛନ୍ତି। ଉଦ୍ଧାର ପରେ ଫିଲ୍ଡ କର୍ମଚାରୀ ଓ ଭେଟନାରୀ କର୍ମଚାରୀ ସମସ୍ତ ଓରାଙ୍ଗଓଟାନଙ୍କ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟାବସ୍ଥା ଅନୁଧ୍ୟାନ କରୁଛନ୍ତି। ସମସ୍ତ ଓରାଙ୍ଗଓଟାନଙ୍କ ସ୍ୱାସ୍ଥ୍ୟାବସ୍ଥା ସ୍ୱାଭାବିକ ରହିଛି। ଘଟଣାସ୍ଥଳ ଓ ଆଖପାଖ ଅଞ୍ଚଳର ସିସିଟିଭି ଫୁଟେଜ୍ ଯାଞ୍ଚ କରାଯିବ। ଓରାଙ୍ଗଓଟାନ ଭାରତୀୟ ପ୍ରଜାତି ନୁହେଁ। ତେଣୁ ବିଦେଶୀ ପ୍ରଜାତିର ପ୍ରାଣୀ କିଭଳି ବାଲେଶ୍ୱରକୁ ଆସିଲେ, ତାହା ତଦନ୍ତର ମୁଖ୍ୟ ପ୍ରସଙ୍ଗ ହେବ। ରାଙ୍ଗଓଟାନମାନେ ସ୍ଥଳପଥ ଓ ଜଳପଥ ଦେଇ ବାଲେଶ୍ୱରକୁ ଆସିଥାଇପାରନ୍ତି ବୋଲି ବନ ବିଭାଗ ଅନୁମାନ କରୁଛି।

Five rare orangutans rescued from Bhograi in Balasore have reached Nandankanan Zoological Park. A special team brought the animals to Nandankanan, where they will initially be kept in quarantine. Questions remain over how these five orangutans, which resemble wild humans, suddenly reached the Bhograi forest. Balasore DFO Indalkar Pratik Prakash said no evidence has so far been found to confirm that the orangutans were smuggled, but the smuggling angle will be thoroughly investigated. Field and veterinary staff are monitoring their health, and all five are currently in normal condition. CCTV footage from the incident site and nearby areas will also be examined. As orangutans are not an Indian species, the Forest Department is investigating how they reached Balasore and suspects they may have arrived through land or waterways.
