Odisha Govt Orders Inspection of Old, Dangerous Buildings After Delhi Collapse

After a building collapse in Delhi claimed seven lives, the Odisha government has stepped up safety measures across urban areas. The Housing and Urban Development Minister has directed officials to inspect old and weak buildings that may pose a danger. The inspection will be completed within 15 days, and buildings identified as dangerous will be issued notices and demolished if necessary. Special focus will be given to old cities such as Cuttack and Puri. Meanwhile, there are calls to repair and preserve heritage buildings instead of demolishing them completely.
