Flood Rescue: Villagers Save Elderly Man Swept Away in Baitarani River

ଭାସି ଯାଉଥିବା ବୃଦ୍ଧଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କଲେ ଗ୍ରାମବାସୀ। ଚାନ୍ଦବାଲି ବ୍ଲକ ବୋଡକ ଠାରେ ବୈତରଣୀ ନଦୀରେ ଭାସି ଗଛକୁ ଧରି ପାଣିରେ ରହିଥିଲେ ସମ୍ପୃକ୍ତ ବୃଦ୍ଧ। ଡଙ୍ଗାରେ ଯାଉଥିବାବେଳେ ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଲୋକେ ବୃଦ୍ଧଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିଛନ୍ତି। ଯାଜପୁର ଜିଲ୍ଲା ମଙ୍ଗଳପୁର ଅଞ୍ଚଳରୁ ଜଣେ ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଆରଡି ଅଭିମୁଖେ ଆସୁଥିବାବେଳେ ବୈତରଣୀ ନଦୀର ପ୍ରଖର ସ୍ରୋତରେ ଭାସି ଯାଇଥିଲେ। ସ୍ଥାନୀୟ ଯୁବକମାନେ ଦେଶୀ ଡଙ୍ଗାରେ ଆସି ବୃଦ୍ଧଙ୍କ ନିକଟରେ ପହଞ୍ଚି ତାଙ୍କୁ ଉଦ୍ଧାର କରିଥିଲେ। ଉଦ୍ଧାର ପରେ ଦେହ ହାତ ଥରୁଥିବାରୁ ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଜଣକ କିଛି କହିପାରିନଥିଲେ। ତେବେ ନିଶ୍ଚିତ ମୃତ୍ୟୁ ମୁଖରୁ ବୃଦ୍ଧ ଜଣକ ବର୍ତ୍ତି ଯାଇଛନ୍ତି।

A dramatic rescue took place at Bodak in Chandbali block after an elderly man was swept away by the strong current of the Baitarani River. The elderly man, who was reportedly travelling from the Mangalpur area of Jajpur district towards Aradi, was carried away by the powerful current but managed to hold on to a tree and stay in the water. Local youths reached him in a country boat and safely rescued him. After the rescue, the elderly man was trembling and unable to speak. He narrowly escaped what could have been a tragic end.
