Floodwater continues to rise in Basudevpur of Bhadrak district, inundating several villages and leaving many families waterlogged. With water entering homes, cooking stoves have been submerged and domestic animals are reportedly without food. Communication to Barantua and Sudarshanpur has been disrupted, while nearly five feet of floodwater is flowing over the Basudevpur-Anantapur road. Amid the difficult conditions, Health Department teams are risking their lives to reach and check the health of pregnant women and recently delivered mothers in the affected areas.
