ବର୍ଷା ପାଇଁ ଚାଲିଛି ଗିରି ପୂଜା। ଭଲ ବର୍ଷା ଓ ଗୃହପାଳିତ ପଶୁଙ୍କୁ ରୋଗବ୍ୟାଧିରୁ ମୁକ୍ତି ମିଳିବା ବିଶ୍ୱାସରେ ପାହାଡ଼ ଚଢ଼ି ପୂଜା କରିଛନ୍ତି ଗ୍ରାମବାସୀ। ଗଞ୍ଜାମ ଧରାକୋଟ ବ୍ଲକ ଦିଗି ଗାଁରେ ଦେଖିବାକୁ ମିଳିଛି ଏଭଳି ନିଆରା ପରମ୍ପରା। ଗାଁଠାରୁ ପ୍ରାୟ ୫ କିଲୋମିଟର ଦୂରରେ ଥିବା ପାହାଡ଼ ଉପରେ ରହିଛନ୍ତି ମା’ ପୋଡ଼ା ବଉରାଣୀ ଠାକୁରାଣୀ।

Amid concern over low rainfall, villagers of Digi village in Dharakote block of Ganjam came together to perform Giri Puja, seeking good rainfall and protection for their domestic animals from diseases. People from children to elderly villagers climbed a hill around 5 km from the village, where Maa Podha Baurani Thakurani is worshipped. The villagers performed Homa Yajna along with the worship of the deity and Giri Puja.
