Hirakud Opens More Gates as Reservoir Level Rises Amid Heavy Rain

ଉପରମୁଣ୍ଡରେ ପ୍ରବଳ ବର୍ଷା, ବଢୁଛି ହୀରାକୁଦ ଜଳଭଣ୍ଡାର ଜଳସ୍ତର। କୋଲିଲା ହୀରାକୁଦ ଡ୍ୟାମର ଆଉ ୫ଟି ଗେଟ୍। ଏବେ ୧୩ଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଦେଇ ବନ୍ୟା ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସନ ହେଉଛି। ଆଜି ପ୍ରଥମେ ୩ଟି ପରେ ୫ଟି ଗେଟ୍ ଖୋଲାଯାଇଛି। ସକାଳ ୯ ଟା ସୁଦ୍ଧା ଜଳଭଣ୍ଡାରକୁ ୧ଲକ୍ଷ ୫୪ହଜାର ୬୯ କ୍ୟୁସେକ ଜଳ ପ୍ରବେଶ କରୁଥିବା ବେଳେ ୧ଲକ୍ଷ ୪୧ହଜାର ୩୬୦ କ୍ୟୁସେକ ଜଳ ନିଷ୍କାସିତ ହେଉଛି।

Heavy rainfall in the upper catchment has pushed up the water level of the Hirakud reservoir. Five more gates of the Hirakud Dam have been opened, taking the total number of open gates to 13 for floodwater discharge. Earlier today, 3 gates were opened first, followed by 5 more. By 9 AM, the reservoir was receiving 1,54,069 cusecs of water, while 1,41,360 cusecs were being released.
