The sacred Rath Daudi (chariot pulling rope) for Lord Jagannath's world-famous Rath Yatra is being handcrafted at Chandanpur in Odisha's Puri district. Employees of the Odisha State Cooperative Coir Corporation have been preparing the ropes with ritual purity and traditional craftsmanship over several months. These specially made ropes will be used during the grand Rath Yatra. Here's a look at how the sacred ropes are being made and the current progress of the work ahead of the festival.
