India Blames China for Border Tensions, Says Deviations from Patrol Patterns Cause Instability

India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has attributed tensions along the India-China border to deviations from established Chinese patrolling patterns, stating that such changes can create instability in border areas. The statement came a day after Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) Director General Shatrujit Kapoor spoke about ongoing face-offs between Indian and Chinese troops at various locations in Arunachal Pradesh. His remarks have renewed attention on the border situation following the June 2020 Galwan Valley clash in Ladakh. Both countries are continuing efforts to prevent misunderstandings along the Line of Actual Control (LAC), with diplomatic and military-level talks underway to resolve outstanding issues. India has also stressed that maintaining peace and tranquillity in border areas is essential for the overall development of bilateral relations.
