Kalinga Ghati will remain closed on September 23 and 24 in view of the possibility of heavy rainfall. Bhanjanagar has been witnessing intermittent rain and winds since morning under the influence of the depression. Keeping the weather conditions in mind, the administration will barricade and seal the road at Durgaprasad for two days. The move comes amid concerns over public safety, with local residents worried after last year's landslide. For the safety of people living in low-lying areas of Durgaprasad, the administration has advised them to shift to higher ground.
